Neuromorphic Hackathon

A hackathon organized by neuroTUM and Fortiss

We are offering together with Fortiss the opportunity of working on hands-on projects for a 5-day hackathon on neuromorphic computing. On the day before the hackathon there will be highlight talks by our partners and an onboarding for the hackathon. This event will dive deeper into the applications of neuromorphic technology. Furthermore, we will have highlight talks on this technology provided by Fortiss and others.

Important dates

Registration period for the challenges: September 1 - October 21
Registration period for the Workshop day: Now - November 1
Announcement of the hackathon paticipants: October 27

Main Points

Topics and demonstrators

Topics will be published some time before the hackathon so that you can get familiar with them. Then the specific approach will be defined in the Hackathon itself.

Examples of topics:

Attention Mechanisms – Gesture Recognition – Robotic Arm Control – Online Learning

Examples of Demonstrators:

Intel-Loihi Neuromorphic Chip – Event Based Cameras – Kuka 7dof Robotic Arm

Requirements

- Confidence in using Python
- Basic knowledge in SNN's and neuromorphic computing.
- Basic knowledge in Pytorch and/or Tensorflow
- Upload CV
- Upload documents or link to repository which show knowledge of the skills described

Challenges

During the first day of the event, there will be talks and challenge onboarding by Fortiss and other. The participants will then be split in 4 different teams. During the 4-day hackathon the teams will dive deeper into neuromorphic technology and tackled the challenges given by the experts. At the end the winner team will be offered a prize and acknowledgment from neuromorphic experts.
